CASINO
Casino - A Chance To Dream
With all the stress, that takes place in life, people
have to find a way to relax. Going home after work, is a release
from work stress, but home life can bring stress of its own.
People have to find ways to re-invigorate their bodies and their
minds. For most people, a vacation is the perfect way to put
some fun, back in their live and there are a number of things
people can do on vacation. They can go hiking, take a cruise,
travel to foreign places and they can also try their luck, at a
casino.
Most people are aware of Vegas and Atlantic City, but there
are other places, where gambling casinos are legal in the US.
There are designated Native American territories and many states,
which offer the casino life. Casinos offer people an opportunity
to forget about their normal lives and lose themselves in games
of chance. Casinos have done a great job of upgrading their
image; they're no longer thought of as a mob hang-out and people
need have no concerns about their safety when they enter
casinos.
However, casinos are a business and like all businesses they
know that without customers, they can't survive. Casinos realize
that a large portion of their customers are vacationers and not
professional gamblers. They know a majority of people will leave
their casinos as losers, but they don't want them going away mad.
Casinos live off repeat customers, like any other business. So
they want customers to leave happy about their experience and
not upset about losing. And the way casinos try to keep
customers smiling is with comps. Comps are complimentary things
given by the casinos and these may include, free chips to play
with, drinks, gifts and free meals.
Casinos are just another form of entertainment, but some
people may frown on casinos, because of the gambling aspect.
However, some people go to casinos to gamble, just like others
go to amusement parks for the rides. And as for spending money,
lots of people spend a great deal of money going to Disney theme
parks. Many people feel casinos are bad for society and that
those with lower incomes are more prone to gamble. But the facts
are, people with higher incomes visit casinos more often; which
makes sense, since they have more money to gamble with.
The pros and cons about casinos, will probably be a never
ending debate. Some will focus on jobs and tax revenue, while
others concern themselves with the effects on society and its
morality. How people spend their money has little to do with
morals and everything to do with choice. Every day, it seems
like personal freedoms are eroding and the government has no
qualms about invading the private lives of its citizens. But
casinos allow people to retain their freedom; which is the
freedom to have a good time. Casinos cannot solve the ills of
the world, but for a brief moment in time, they can transport
you to a place where anything is possible.
